The performance ∫ <Sense> * dt examines the mechanisms of sensory information processing and the emergence of perception. Media artist Wei Huang and composer WONWOORI present the process by which discrete sensory signals are transformed into an ordered reality through shared cognitive principles. The work focuses on the derivation of cognitive outputs from disordered data.

Wei Huang utilizes overlapping transparent layers printed with geometric patterns. While individual layers consist of simple, isolated lines, their relative movement induces light interference that forms Moire patterns. This phenomenon relies on the Gestalt principle of proximity, where the cognitive system groups adjacent elements into a single unit. Consequently, the observer’s brain generates a visual order that does not exist within the isolated layers.
