Frequency Response is a work that allows the viewer to explore how their ears react to sound by directly turning a knob placed in front of the screen. It searches for how many processes are involved in the natural act of 'hearing' by allowing the audience to directly hear sounds in the ultra-low and ultra-high ranges that are hardly ever heard in everyday life. In WOW-LOG (2019-2020), Wonwoori conducted an auditory experiment to allow hearing-impaired people to appreciate effective music using cochlear implants. In order to increase the auditory response of people with hearing loss, low and high notes were played as pure tones, and it was confirmed that the perceptible low and high frequencies were expanded just by hearing them. Frequency Response allows anyone to test their hearing. In this work, the participants can sense how delicately their ears respond to sounds of the world by being enabled to directly hear the lowest-pitched and highest-pitched sounds in the auditory perceptive region. This work provides an opportunity to perceive the body and its relationship with the surrounding world by engaging the process of hearing that is often overlooked in everyday life.
